London Leftfooters 1 – 1 Cardiff Dragons

Before i go into the match report from the game i want to express how proud i have been not only this season but taking into account last season as well on what the club has achieved to date and i say club because i mean everybody you have all achieved this every single member with being part of the club.

In only our 2nd season in the GFSN league we have progressed already to the middle teir of the league setup. With Jason’s guidence last season and under Muzz’s leadership this season the club is going in the right direction and progressing well.

Just a word on Muzz personally i’d like to take this opportunity to thank him on behalf of all the members of this club on the amount of time and effort he has put into this club this season and believe you me i know much this guy had put into achieving what we have this season on the pitch in games and in training and long may that continue under his management.

Onto the game itself The Dragons lined up as follows:-

Kris, Muzz (Manager), Anthony(Capt), Jason, Dave F, Paul, Simon D, Mark, Hywel, Sam, Crispin.

Subs: Ed, John A, Darrin, Leanne, Ruth.

Playing on astro tuff was never going to be easy with the ball bouncing over your head a lot of the time making controlling the ball that much more difficult.

The dragons adapted to the surface very quickly looking to play the ball on the ground and put a lot passes together with players making good space we were playing free flowing football.

It was fair to say that the leftfooters were playing to their strength on the day which playing the ball over the top to the two quick front players. Which paid off on 15 minutes when a ball over the top caught the Dragons defence out. 1 – 0 Leftfooters. The Dragons never gave up playing football the game was end to end stuff with both sides creating a lot of chances at half time the score remained 1-0 Leftfooters.

The 2nd half was very similar to the first half with the Dragons playing some neat football. The Leftfooters were having trouble containing the dragons which resulted in them picking up 2 bookings. It was after the 2nd booking for yet another foul on Mark that the Dragons equalised. Mark played the free kick into the box and Muzz was the quickest to react after the ball came back off the keeper to put the ball in the back of the net 1-1.

The Dragons never gave up on trying the bag the winner but it was not to be and the game ended 1-1.

Well done Simon D who made his first 11 a side start for The Dragons.

The management would like to thank the support on the day first of all from Darrin, Leanne, & Ruth. Dave Kelly and Lucy the vocal support was fantastic it was just what we needed. Special thanks to Lucy & Ruth for putting up with my driving through London a bit of an experience for them haha!!!!!

Many thanks to The Leftfooters for their hospitality on the day it was first class.

Finally on a sad note this is my last match report for the season its gone by so quickly.

The Amos (Assistant Manager)
