Playing and Training
Training currently takes place twice a week: on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also have additional training on Sunday afternoons if we don’t have a match scheduled.
If you wish to come along to training, we recommend you drop us a quick message to confirm the training times, as sometimes the time varies due to availability of pitches.
We charge £3 subs per training session, which covers pitch hire, any surplus goes towards equipment and running the club. Your first session is free of charge.
Tuesday training sessions currently weekly, and take place at Gol football centre at either 8pm or 9pm (depending on availability). This is a social session where we split up into roughly even teams and play a match with the emphasis being on fun. We train on astroturf so please wear appropriate footwear and Shinpads.
With the nights getting darker, Thursday’s sessions have moved back to Sophia Gardens from 9pm onwards. This session is usually geared towards training for our 11-a-side matches, but everyone is welcome whether you want to play competitive matches or not.
If you wish to train please remember to bring suitable footwear (astros are best, moulds or blades can also be worn) and you must have Shinpads.
On Sundays when we don’t have a match, we train down at Pontcanna fields. This session is geared towards 11-a-sides training. The session starts at 1pm, although there are usually a few of us down there with a net up from 12pm to focus on individual skills. Again, it’s best to message us to confirm whether we’re training before you come down.
